Welcome to the Treasure The Word Home Page. We are all about proclaiming
Jesus Christ and proclaiming the joy of faith, family, and fellowship. This page will serve as a mixed bag: the
posting of Christian sermons and articles by the head of the Perry Six Home and Pastor of Boone's Creek Baptist Church (Matt Perry) in Lexington, KY.
Not only to being a husband and the father of four, and not only serving
as Pastor of Boone's Creek Baptist Church in Lexington, KY --- but Matt serves as the Founder of Treasure The Word and as the host of the ministry broadcast of Boone's Creek Church called
"Treasuring The Word." (These broadcasts can be seen at various times on ICN 14 in Lexington.)

As a pastor of a church in beautiful Kentucky as well as a lover of the
Lord Jesus, my desire is for the pursuit of God to be a daily pursuit.
I pray that this site will be a place of refreshment and growth in the grace
and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Too many Christians remain in the infant and toddler stages of their spiritual walk,
but that is not where Christ would have us be. While we must have that trusting, child-like faith, we are also called upon
by Scripture to worship with our hearts, souls, MINDS,
and strength (Matthew 22:37-38). Why? Because Satan plants seeds of sin and self in the minds and those seeds bloom to fruition
in our actions and our words. Which is why the Apostle Paul urges us to "take every thought captive to obey Christ" (2 Corinthians
10:5). When our minds wrap themselves around the doctrinal truths of the Word God has given to us, we know better how to obey
and thus know better how to withstand the schemes of the devil.
So won't you join me as we grow and mature in Christ? Romans 8:29 says, "For
those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son." Let's learn how to do that --- starting
right now!
Where do we begin? With Scripture! Look at what the Baptist Faith and Message
says:
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation
of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth,
without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles
by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and
the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony
to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation (Article 1: The Scriptures)
This ministry will be expanding and growing, so please check back
frequently!
